June 3, 1947 – March 9, 2005

Born in Detroit, Brian Joseph Killian earned his B.A. at Ferris State and MBA at Wayne State.  He taught at Grosse Pointe North High School before switching careers and becoming a celebrated interior designer.  Killian donated generously to the Triangle Foundation and served as co-chair of the 1993 Human Rights Campaign Michigan Dinner gala fundraiser.  A fire in his Birmingham home took his life.

Charles Tyson

April 12, 1944 – August 27, 1986

Charles Tyson served as vice president of the Michigan Organization for Human Rights in the mid-1980s.  He and his business partner Kathie Dannemiller formed the consulting firm Dannemiller Tyson Associates in Ann Arbor.  He was also active in the Human Rights Campaign Fund and the Republican Party.

Janis Warren

April 24, 1946 – April 8, 2007

Farmington Hills resident, CPA, and the mother of a gay son, Janis Warren was a devoted ally to Metro Detroit’s LGBTQ community.  Among the causes that she supported were the Triangle Foundation, the Human Rights Campaign, and the Michigan Jewish AIDS Coalition.

Activist Robert Clark was past president of the Black Pride Society, which produces Detroit’s annual Hotter Than July celebration.  He served on the Michigan HRC Steering Committee and was active in the Peninsula Group.

George Fadiga

February 19, 1954 – February 25, 2000

George Fadiga was a tireless activist with the Hope Fund, the Human Rights Campaign Michigan Dinner, the Motor City Business Forum, the Midwest AIDS Prevention Project, and other Detroit area causes.  At the time of his sudden death he worked as a sales representative with Crain Communications.
