Launched on March 1, 2017, Michigan LGBTQ Remember is dedicated to documenting the diverse lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Michiganders and their allies who are no longer with us. Some were leaders, some were activists, some were volunteers, some were bar owners or employees or customers, some were entertainers, some were elders, some were still in their youth, some met tragic ends, and many were simply ordinary LGBTQ people who went about their everyday lives Some were out during their lifetime, some were not. Each deserves to be remembered as part of LGBTQ communities in which we live and that came before us.
As of March 1, 2021, one post is added per week.
You are invited to also visit a companion blog of reflections on Queer Remembering, with entries posted on an occasional basis.
The first entry of Queer Remembering explained how this project got its start.
Suggestions are most welcome. And if you knew anyone included here so far, please comment and share your memories of that person. If you know of someone you would like added or if you have a better photo of someone than appears here, please contact the site curator.
