David Hutchinson

July 9, 1992 – May 16, 2021

Born in Missouri, Ann Arbor resident David Lawrence Hutchinson grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and earned his B.A. from Truman State University.  He went on to pursue his doctorate in history at the University of Michigan where his research interests included the Black diaspora, African American intellectual history, and queer studied.  Hutchinson was killed in an automobile accident at age 28.

February 5, 1992 – December 11, 2017

Kristen Kay Laughton was born in Midland, graduated from Bullock Creek High School in 2010, studied at Mid Michigan College, and worked at Dow Chemical.  Laughton lost her life in a fatal car crash due to winter road conditions.  Her spouse Jessica Laughton survived her.

Jay Ralko

July 13, 1992 – Last seen December 10, 2014

Jay Ralko of Warren was active in the GLBTA Student Union while a student at Wayne State University and was employed at Kroger.  The 22-year-old trans man went missing on December 10, 2014, sparking an extensive regional search.  He was found dead in his car thirteen days later.  Police suspected that Ralko took his own life.
