Linda Caldwell

December 13, 1949 – January 13, 2021

Originally from Iowa, Gladwin resident Linda Sue Caldwell taught high school health in Wisconsin and later at Ogemaw High in West Branch.  She was also an athletic trainer and volleyball coach.  Caldwell and her wife and partner of 38 years Susan Hightower also ran the Twisted Oak Tree Farm with an easement arranged through Little Forks Conservancy.

Eugene Gallop

April 24, 1914 – June 21, 2000

Lifelong West Branch resident Eugene G. Gallop worked as a hotel clerk after high school and served in the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in World War II.  Following the war, he attended Michigan State Normal School, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and was later employed as an office worker.  In the 1950s, Gallop subscribed to ONE magazine.
