Grosse Pointe resident Marcia Elise Baker earned her doctor of osteopathy at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri.  Specializing in internal medicine, she was later on staff at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center.  She was survived by Dr. Claudia Osborn, her life partner of 25 years.

Jeffrey Montgomery

May 9, 1953 – July 18, 2016

Jeffrey Montgomery graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School and earned his B.A. from Michigan State University.  Montgomery was active in the effort to restore Orchestra Hall in Detroit in the 1980s before helping to found in 1991 the Triangle Foundation.  As Triangle’s executive director, he battled hate crimes and championed sexual freedom and LGBTQ rights.

Mary Beth Dietz

Mary Beth Dietz earned a B.A. in English from Michigan State University and taught English in Wisconsin before returning to school to become a chiropractor.  She and LeAnne Ray became the first same-sex couple married in Michigan City, Indiana.
