  1. To Maureen’s colleagues and friends,

You may find this Jewish prayer to be useful:

“If the desire to honor the memory of your loved one impels you to do a mitzvah you otherwise would not have done, learn something you otherwise would not have learned or go higher and farther than ever before then the soul of the deceased lives on in you.”

Maureen’s love of theatre, music and the arts inspired a terrific sense of humor, which she used to lighten everyone’s day. A more kind and loyal friend would be hard to find. Please carry on her true esprit de corps with the joy she found in every day. In eight grade at Barnum Junior High, Maureen imitated martians in English class so I would laugh and get reprimanded. (We earned A’s in English in spite of Martians). Maureen also tried out for the school play and stunned everyone with an excellent Irish brogue. I think she got ripped off because all the good parts went to 9th graders. We sang John Denver, read “The Hobbit” and ate lots of pizza.

Please take time to tell people you love them. Because you don’t know when you’ll see them again. I never told Maureen I loved her. My mistake.

Thank you for your valuable time.
